Support communities

Ten people contributing £/€/$10 each per month results in £/€/$1,200 in a year. For each individual, it's moderate and manageable, yet together a group can make a significant impact. Optional extras are to supply a volunteer or to come to stay with us.

A support community agrees to pool an agreed sum each member regularly contributes, for an agreed period. The amounts and the period of time are your choice. We suggest moderate goals, since consistency, simplicity and reliability are more valuable than big ideas that fizzle out.

If your group raises £/€/$1,200 in one year, this can support 3-4 children's scholarships at the school. Or it can be invested in equipment, teaching aids or books for the library. Or it can fund two air fares to Europe on a student exchange.

This can be good fun and personally meaningful. You can engage with the school in a way appropriate for you. Please consider forming or joining a support community.

Some tips

Hope Flowers School

Since there are issues transferring funds to Palestine, put your monthly payments into an account by standing order or direct debit, and transfer funds to Palestine once or twice per year, as arranged with us, or through the channels outlined on the donations page. We can arrange credit card payments, bank cheques in UK and USA and direct bank transfers to the school in Bethlehem.

Set your aims and time-frame thoughtfully, aiming to avoid drop-outs or strains incurred from changes of circumstance. Arrange a time-period, such as a year, to which members commit. At the end of the year you can review your commitments.

Each support community should have its own coordinator who oversees collection and transfer of contributions. It is the group's own business to manage their side of the equation. On our side we shall undertake to spend the money on the agreed project or cause, as agreed between us and your coordinator.

For initial enquiries, e-mail our webmaster and he will help you clarify all necessary questions before you start, and advise what to do next.
